What drives me
Creativity. Developing solutions. I see myself not only as a lawyer, but also as a business consultant and sparring partner for our clients in decision-making on legal issues.
My personal relationship with the people who make the decisions is a critical success factor. I am proud that we have close-knit relationships with our clients, many of whom we advise over several years (even decades) as a strategic partner. We act as an external legal department, understand how the business works and know the market environment. When implementing measures, risks can thus be identified at an early stage and opportunities seized. I don’t just give recommendations in response to questions, but rather say what is needed.
My secondary activities as press relations officer for an international textile discounter and as a long-standing member of the supervisory board of sheepworld AG have given me valuable experience for my entrepreneurial consulting approach.
What defines me
I consider myself an entrepreneur. After having worked at a law firm in Tokyo and for one of the first German “internet lawyers”, I started my own business. This was more than 20 years ago and I was one of the few female business lawyers with my own law firm. I learned to be independent and self-reliant very early on. I soon recognised the opportunities of digitalisation and for lawyers to specialise in this field which inspired me to found a startup company. The focus of recent years has been on LegalTech.
I was born in Westphalia, a region in northwestern Germany, and now live in Cologne with my husband. I love seeing the Rhine every day when I step out of our front door. I enjoy strolling through museums and galleries, roaming about foreign cities and am interested in architecture. I’m particularly fond of unusual places and hostels. Always on the lookout for something new. A broad view is important, both privately and professionally.
